MUCH OF 2010

12/30/2010  Christmas was really a great time this year. Dara and I flew to Jess and Matt's in Oregon and then we all drove to Hyatt Lake for the Christmas Holiday. Matt's mom, Jake, Sandy, and Dani also Joined us there. (Sorry Jake, your pictures were blurry.) Many thanks to the people at Hyatt Lake who spoiled us with their hospitality.

A fender bender delayed our return from Hyatt Lake for a few hours and probably was the reason for Bernie's new cold. Many thanks to the  Oregon state trooper,  the county plow driver, and the tow truck and driver who came to our rescue. We are once again back in Vegas at Norma's who kept Merlin. Thanks Norma.

11/16/2010  I am back in Vegas. Merlin too. Dara's mom and dad are in a very nice assisted living facility. We have pretty much emptied the house for disposal. We are working from Dara's aunt Norma's home. Dara is still working on getting a positive medical response for her problems. Jess came down for a visit. She visited with her grandparents and met her cousin Gia. Jess and I drove back to Oregon with some goodies from the house and grandma's car. On the way we managed to hook up for dinner with my cousin Les, his wife Alice, and her sister. In Oregon, I met the new puppy "Ally" and Jess & Matt's friend Eva. We then went to their special hide-a-way in the mountains. From there I went to Sandy and Jake's and even managed to visit Shiloh, Sandy's new baby colt. I flew back Yesterday the 15th, Jessica and Robin's birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ladies. Merlin got a new cut for my return. That's it in a nutshell. Sorry that I have been lax in my website responsibilities.

I should also add: Stopping to visit at Bob and Jo Lynn's in Wisconsin, The new Karaoke room at the "Barts", and Stan and Connie's new digs.

9/12/2010   Hard Drive is in. Restoration has just begun. (Crappy days only, as too much other stuff to do.) Lucky to have current back-up of this site, so will add a few recent picts when out and about. (This means Merlin has a sand box again.)

9/3/2010  It has been busy. Computer hard drive recently crashed and has me waiting for a new hard drive. I am not easily getting my Frontiernet mail, and it only allowed me on through a beta version of Windows 7. (And only for short periods of time.) It will be this way until new hard drive arrives and can be recreated with what I managed to save. (No little job as my laptop is still in Vegas.)

Dara is returning to Vegas this coming Sunday. I will follow with Merlin as soon as I take care of what needs to be done here. Hopefully our stay in Vegas will allow us to get to FL in a timely fashion.

Robin, Riley and Jaz were here shortly after I returned and Jess and Matt came in just after Dara. It was good to see them all. I will place a few pictured below. Sorry they are not in order.

6/13/2010  For those who have not heard,  I have traveled cross country to help Dara who earlier this year flew to be with her Mom who had a serious stroke in Nevada. I drove to drop off Merlin with our friends Bob and Jo Lynn who live in Wisconsin. Merlin had formed a special attachment with them when in Florida and is coping better than we are with this temporary arrangement. He is getting more walks, playing with more dogs and children than ever. Bob and Jo are spoiling him with love and affection, plus quite a few Puperoni's thrown in. (Not to mention cookies, animal crackers, and fish oil at every supper.)

Dara's mom is making great strides in her recovery. We continue to hope for a fast and complete recovery.

It is a busy time for us and I probably will add no more to this website until I return.

Two of my neighbors docks and hoists

Note: Uncle Don said waves last night were above the last section out on my dock above. Also note that even though the storm has subsided and dropped at least 10" from that in this picture, the water level is still way above that of yesterday when over 1/2 the wheel was showing. See picture of wheel below.

Normally at this time of year the water should be at the bottom of the steel on the dock. Sunsets are not effected.
